There are a number of reasons for the disparity in the prices, three that
are easy to explain are:
1) North of the Rappahannock River, gasoline has to be RFG(Reformulated
Gasoline). Currently this gas costs anywhere from 12-14 cents per gallon
more than "conventional" gasoline sold in the City of Fredericksburg and
Spotsylvania County.

2) Residents of Stafford and northern counties also pay an additional 2% for
their gasoline and diesel. This surcharge is called the Metro tax.

3) WaWa and Sheetz, two C-store operators from the north are fighting and
old fashioned gas war and are very frequently selling regular no-lead at or
below cost.

So jump in that Triumph and come to Fredericksburg; it has cheap fuel and is
a lovely place to visit.
