Ok guys gimmie a little quick help here.
I am currently having an early TR-4 head (with three exhaust springs) rebuilt
to standard specs. It needs new intake valves and has a broken inner spring
(don't know if it is intake or exhaust at the moment)
I have a few surplus TR-4 heads, but some are early type (three exhaust spring
s) and some are later (two exhaust springs).
What is the interchangeability of these springs? Are the intake springs the
same on both types of heads? Can you switch from triple to double on the
exhaust?
In the near future I'm gonna have another head redone, but am going to monkey
with it a little. Thinking of having the head milled a little, installing
stiffer springs, lighter spring retainers, possibly oversized valves you know
the routine. (if you really do, please advise me of what you reccomend and
where to get parts)
Because of this future rebuild, I figure I'm gonna get new spings for it, why
can't I pirate some of the old ones if I need to? What a mess!
Also, does anyone have the address or phone # for British Frame and Engine
out in California?
Thanks so much in advance.
Scott Tilton: ever so grateful that he has found this list.
