Sounds a bit pricey for a project car to me. Here in NY (Upstate,
please. All connection with NYC is hereby disavowed) you could get
a very nice driver for that $$$. In Texas, I wouldn't look at anything
with rust. Please understand, I love Spitfires. Ask my partner-in-grime
Andy Mace. It's just that they don't command a very high price. (Maybe
that's what got us into them in the first place.)
If you're willing to go $2,000+ My advice is to hold out for a better
car than the one you described.
