Actually, there would be no mosquitos as the oil leaking from the LBCs would
float on the top of the water, smother the mosquito larvae and *they* would
die.
Now, killing mosquito larvae is probably the ONLY thing the pit is good for,
so I guess the disadvantages so well summarized outweigh the advantages.
