This may be a little off the track regarding the TR4 horn problem but just to
clarify a point, the grounding of the steering rack on a TR6 is not to the
chassis. I just put a new wiring harness in my recently restored TR6 (1970)
last week. The greese nut ground on the steering rack is actually part of the
harness. There is no need for a ground to the chassi in a TR6 as the negative
battery cable grounds to the body just behind the throttle shaft on the firewall
and then to the back of the head on the engine. All the other grounds in the
wiring harnes are to the body therefore the chassi is not part of the circuit.
This is the case for the 1970 harness and as I remember the other years are the
same.
