Well, at the suggestion of another "RadLabber" (who drives a Spitfire), I
had my MGB towed to "John Bull British Auto Repair" in Pleasant Hill. The
word is that there's no compression on #4 - maybe a blown head gasket.
They will have the head off today - it will be interesting to see what the
inside looks like.
This is an interesting place - as far as I can tell there are 3 people who
work there. The apparent #1 man, who was up to in his elbows in the MGB when
I dropped by after work, has a rather convincing British (English?) accent.
He claims to be a distributor for Moss, and sez he'll sell any part for the
Moss catalog price. Claims to have quite a bit in stock.

I know the place you're talking about! There are actually 3 warehouses at
last count; #1 contains the boxcar-load of brand new Model T Fords that was
found on a siding in the desert, #2 contains a Victory Ship load of Jeeps
still in the shipping crates, and #3 contains the assorted MGs and Healeys.
Elvis is the night-watchman. It's just beyond Moss Landing - look for Lonely
Street and turn right.
