During the 1920's Armstrong-Siddeley used Claudel updraft carburetors.
The 14 HP model a single throat instrument and the 18 HP model a twin
throat carburetor with exhaust hot spotting.
The Claudel was also used by many other cars and it should not be that
difficult to find a good specimen. Alternatively other similar updraft
carburetors, such as the Zenith or the (American) Stromberg could be adapted
without much trouble.
Contrary to some opinions, the SU carburetor was not that popular in the
1920's,its use being reserved to some sports cars ,such as the Alvis,HE and
later some Bentleys.
