Anyone care to venture an opinion on what this car is currently worth? I
am considering selling...

1966 Lotus Elan Coupe

Garage kept, in California since 1977. No frame rust-outs, Fiberglass body.

Engine prepared by Quicksilver Racing, has Cosworth block & ~10:1 pistons,
mild cam regrind (idles well), BIG valves (stainless, bigger than "Big Valve").
Tubular exhaust headers, two to one to one style.
Weber carbs with 33mm throats (35mm too, if you want them!). Stainless steel
braided fuel line, AN fittings, electric pump in trunk. Quicksilver estimates
this engine will produce 140hp, redline at 7400rpm... stock crankshaft & 125E
rods are the main limitation. I've never tried more than 7000rpm, and only
momentarily!!!

Rear suspension has Spider elliptical tubing A-arms (stronger than orig.) and
Spider splined half-shafts. Original Lotus half-shafts included, these are
quieter running. New Spider chrome-vanadium springs, front and rear. Nearly
new adjustable Koni shocks, front and rear. Lucas generator replaced with a
Motorola alternator and solid-state regulator. Electric fan (Lotus). New oil
pump, uses spin-on filters. Oil cooler, if wanted. Transmission rebuilt, all
brake calipers rebuilt and treated to prevent rusting. Stainless steel pucks,
plated with Moly corrosion protection, DOT-5 brake fluid only.

Revolution one-piece knock-on alloy wheels, Yokohama A008R 185-13 radials.

Needs: Vacumn cannisters for headlight opening mechanism, a few fiberglass
cracks fixed, top dash pad, heater valences (plastic, beneath dash), fresh
paint (although it doesn't look bad, its just not wonderful). Also needs
interior side panels and carpeting installed (have new set of carpets).
Engine needs rear crankshaft seal (It leaks a LOT) and fresh rings would
be nice.

would make a pretty good autocross car, but is very restorable to "stock"
if thats whats wanted.
