OK, all you Rover and Land Rover types, please help here!

I used to have a 2000TC back in the stone age. I am replying to you on the
list in the hope that someone else can help you, as I can not.

No problem. Yanks also use the term "power brake vacuum booster"

I had a left-hand-drive 2000TC and this unit was on the right side of the
engine bay, away from the driver. In most Yank cars, the vacuum booster is
mounted right on the master cylinder, but I guess Rover used two cylinders., so
they could put the booster somewhere else. The failure I had was that the
brakes would not release. After it was "fixed" by a professional, brake fluid
filled up the vacuum chamber.

Please reply directly to Hedie.

I have reprinted here all references to Rover parts I have. I do not know how
accurate or appropriate they are, so we will need input from current Rover
folks.

service can usually be obtained at MG dealers. (I think this place is
what remains of the BMC-BL-JRT evolution. They list a few places like
Moss Motors, British Restoration Parts as "B.L. approved" parts suppliers
for older cars. Their booklet on Jag, & MG dealers. Their catalog ("quick
reference guide") lists engine parts, filters, electrical, clutch
transmission, beating/cooling, brake/wheel parts for 1969 - 1983 Jag,

Rovers West

Very reliable parts source. Before I put my Rover 3500S
in storage I only once had to wait more than two days to get a part in New
York State from them. The time I had to wait was 6 months for lower
compression pistons to stop my engine from knocking.
