2 Parts:

1. Hi Kieth welcome to the group, if you can wade through all the banter about
how the Jaguar name is pronounced, is it an XKE or E-Type and other such
hard disk stuffers, there is a lot of good information that comes through
here and a lot of experteese (In just about every area except the ones I ask
questions about). You can find out about British car related events, get
interesting trip reports, and occasionally some safety alerts. I believe
we had one pop through about a year or so ago that prompted MGB people to
check the lower wishbone in the front suspension for excessive wear.
We just completed a flurry of messages about knock-off hubs mounted on the
incorrect side. Dont be afraid to ask technical questions, guess at answers,
let us know about British car related events in your area or whatever. Please
though, try to keep the fun nonsense remarks to a minimum. They take time to
identify and sift out. Oh & if our administrator hasn't mentioned this to you,
the group is called SOL which means Scions Of Lucas. When we were coming up
with a name for the group (think it was around '86), there was a large group
for Sons Of Lucas and a small group who thought Daughters of Lucas sounded
better. So in a brilliant comprimise, the S became Scions.
LBC means Little British Car so most people, or Large British Cars to those
of us who own cars like Land Rovers, Jag MK VII, or Bentleys. A new word
was recently coined that seems to have cought on, swork. It means swearing
while you work. Thi term is used when people working on their LBCs rediscover
the law of the inate cussidness of inanimate objects.

You will also discover that unless your name is Roland ( ;*) ) you can blame
any existing improper repair jobs on the dreaded previous owner.

Once again welcome!

2. RE: Scott #1 AKA Scott Fisher. Last time I talked to him, he was still
unemployed. His benifit package assured him the equiv. of regular paychecks
for the rest of the year, so I think he is spending time re-evaluating what
he wants to be when he grows up. If you know someone in Silicon Valley
looking for a tech writer, you might want to give him a call.

Or you just might want to call him to say hi & how much you miss his postings.

He can be reached at (408)736-3124

Take care,

TeriAnn
