In American market the E-type was sold only on the name
XK-E, but on all the other markets (at least everywhere
in Europa) the car was E-type. The different versions of
the E-type were known as series 1 (3.8 litre, announced 1961),
series 1.5 (4.2 litre, 1964) (should be one and a half, but
I couldnt find a half on my keyboard), series 2 (4.2 litre, 1968)
        and series 3 (5.3 litre V12, 1971). From year 1966 (series 1.5)
there was also a 2+2 model. The covers on top of front lights
were used only on series 1, and theyre actually toughened
        glass (not perspex).

My personal opinion is that the best E-type is the original
series 1 with 3.8 litre DOHC six. Its the fastest too, well
the V12 ones are as well, but I think theyre quite ugly with
        that grille in front.
