Scott, I'm glad to read that you & your family are alive & well. When you
didn't call Sunday (sorry I do not have your phone #) and you had not posted
Monday or Tuesday I began to worry that you had a family disaster.
I had classes Mon & Tues eve, but I was going to drop by tonight to see if
you & family were OK.

Sunday, there was a light sprinkle around 7:30 to 9:30 that was enough to
settle the top layer of dust but that was it.

I got the MG up on stands, removed the drive shaft, raidator & its bulkhead,
the oil cooler, air filters, drained fluids, detached choke, accelerator
cable, & a mess 'O wires, and heater hoses, & the clutch slave cylinder,
& spedometer cable.

I WD40ed the exhaust nuts and remembered that I forgot to order exhaust
packings :*( Also the transmission mounts looked like they had seen better days

All that needs to happen to get the engine out at this point is 1. bonnet
removed. Engine & trans mounting bolts removed, exhaust nuts removed &
lift away.

I consider removing the bonnet & guiding the engine transmission combination
out of the car to be a two person job with the tools & location that I have.

It looked to me like there were 3 or 4 different ways to seporate the
engine or car from the engine mounts 1. bolts holding bracket to engine;
bolts holding bracket to body,
bolts oriented the length of the body that appear to hold different parts
of the bracket together, and bolts holding what appears to be two sliding
plates together. Any idea which set is the best for easy removal and
matchup??

Am I to assume from the begining of your message, that you decided to restrict
you MG wrenching to your own cars?

TeriAnn
