The K series is the Rover groups' (nee Leyland et al) latest small car engine.
in comes in sizes from 3 cylinder 900cc (not used) to 1600cc 4 cylinder.
 There
are also proposals to make V6 and V8 models.  Its highly modular and is
remarkable for the very small size of the water jacket (sorry cannot remember
the figures).  Although small, it is not as compact as its predecessors,
mainly
because the gearbox is mounted end on.  The 'new' mini-metro uses it, but had
to be lengthened by a few inches to accomodate it.
