When I have to remove the balancer I usually remove the bolt with the engine
still in the car, I put a breaker bar and socket on it set it up so the
breaker bar is about to hit on the frame and use the starter to turn the
engine loosening the bolt. I have never had an issue with the bolts using this
method. This is used in most front drive cars as there is not enough room to
get an impact in there.
