what I use on the floor is a layer of poly vapor barrier, The thickest I can
find, covered by 1/2" OSB (flake board) The osb protects the plastic from
ripping and provides a secondary barrier. It takes 4 sheets to make the 8X16
area for the brick.
I can routinely see ice around the outside edges of the wood plastic so I
guess it's doing its job of keeping the water off the underside of the
brick. I have a very light cotton cover on my 76, It stops some but not all
the dust. It certainly doesn't stop any scratches or "dings" I will be
looking fro a couple of better covers this fall for my cars That I keep in
the unheated dusty part of the shop.
