The air exchange ratio is just about perfect for mold growth, not to fast, not too stagnant. Mold needs oxygen to grow, the fan feeds fresh air to the bubble but not fast enough to dislodge the growth. I am just relaying what i was told by a real person, This was not internet folk lore.
