Well, I went home last night and checked to see if what I posted yesterday
was accurate. Here's what I found on my '74, number four hundred and
something. Under the occupant area of the car is a plate at the front and
one at the back. The front one is against the lower firewall, supporting
the area behind the pedals. It wraps under the car about three or four
inches. The rear plate does the same thing, supporting the area behind the
seat and wrapping underneath it. The rear seat mounts bolt through this
plate.
The front seat mounts bolt through a metal brace that is about five inches
wide. This brace is shaped like a top hat if you look at a cross-section of
it. Kinda like this:

There is also a frame cross member just in front of the seat's front brace.
Other than these metal plates and braces, the rest is exposed fiberglass.

I'm not sure, but I think they all did. In past conversations with Terry,

the steel reinforcements at the front of the floor should be there for
safety.
It would be too easy for something to get kicked up off the road and come
through the floor pan there.
It is entirely possible that these have rotted and were removed. (However,
with only 3800 mi. on one car - that's hard to believe.)
But if anyone wants the drawings, let me know.
