I used that same stuff under my hatchback carpet and under the hood to reflect
the heat. The Shiny stuff goes up. JC Whitney makes the spray adhesive for it
which I used to glue to to the floor. But a local fabric store which I bought
some vinyl from told me to use 3M super spray adhesive. It comes in a spray can
and is black with red/orange lettering. I believe it was about $5 per can. I
have also seen it at Wal-Mart in the automotive section by the Bondo and also in
the fabric/craft section.
It has been over a year and no problems with the adhesion.
