I also had discussions with Terry aout racing the Brick and as a result of
those discussions did remove the torque links. If you get under the car and
look you will see that as the car squats the links will twist the axle
forwars thus winding up the leaf spring. It is very poorly designed. To
work properly the links would have to be at least twice as long and fasten
much further forward.
They are very easy to remove.
Putting a rear sway bar in is not just a bolt on job, but its not real hard
either. You have to get two pieces of 1.5 or maybe its 2" square steel
tubing about 8" long (not sure now just how long they are either) so you can
extend the frame somewhat to fasten the sway bar to it. The extensions can
be either welded in or you can drill and pin them so they can be removed
later if you decide to.
