Well according to the Roger Johnson course design handbook:
DNFs- Goal is zero, acceptable is 1 in 20 on the first run, 1 in 100
thereafter
Pylons- Goal is zero, acceptable is 1 car in 10 hitting any, no more
than 3 for any one car
So, IMHO those are reasonable things to shoot for, and by those measures
there were too many DNFs and too many cones on Sunday's course. I am
not trying to criticize Ben's work, I am just trying to encourage future
course designers can learn from and think of when designing their
courses.
