Lotus is releasing a US spec Elise in 2003 - will have a toyota variant
engine. interesting comparison in the new Road and Track of the stock UK
elise (122? HP) with 7 other cars at buttonwillow. only the ferrari rated
higher.

An Acura motor in an Elise? I knew that the British road version and the US
Motorsports versions (but not the 500hp "race" engines in LM cars) used the
Rover K-Series engine (in no way related to the Honda/Rover collaberation a
few years back) but I've never seen or heard of this Elise/Engine combo.

Speaking of British reliability, both Lotuses (Motorsport Elise and 340R)

Something about the harmonic balancer coming apart and destroying the timing
belt and the valve train.

Speaking of Elises. Last week I saw a Silver Elise zipping down San Tomas
Expressway in San Jose. It had no license plates on it and it didn't sound
like an Acura motor. Could it be someone was "Road" testing their race car?
Hmmm. Naah! -Seth Emerson
