My $.02:
I would be more comfortable with knowing that my activities either on a
race track or an autox course were duly and fully covered by some type of
insurer. Not necessarily the same one that I would use while on the
street.
Once I'm away from that portion event though, I would have no problem with
being covered by my current insurer.
What I'd like to see is the SCCA offering, as part of additional membership
dues or something, the added coverage that 'without a doubt' would cover
you and your car during an SCCA sanctioned event.
And, if this insurer is decent at things (claims, support...),
cost-effective, and is actually willing to write a policy for people on the
street that do race/autox occasionally, they just might have me as a
normal, everyday insured person just like Allstate is now.
This is my Holy Insurance Grail.
