Speedvision onboard cameras???

Just looked at the SCCA website again. I was checking out the Runoffs info.
I clicked on the Speedvision onboard camera button. Is this right???? 
Speedvision
is charging $850.00 per car to put in a camera so they can get onboard video 
of the
Runoffs from the competitors car????? Is this backwards or what??????? 

I bet that this would fly at NHRA or CART or NASCAR!!!!!!!!!! 
NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
