Thought you might like to know, here in the San Francisco Region SCCA
we have a "street school" program that's ideal for solo II drivers who
want some road course action. You drive your street car with an
instructor by your side at our track. This is probally a better way to
go than preping your car for solo 1 which is basically the same as for
road racing.
I'm not sure how popular solo 1 is in other regions, but once you get
a taste for road course speed most drivers will want to go wheel 2
wheel anyway. I suspect that's why you don't hear much about solo 1 in
"Sports Car"
