This type of response is exactly why I usually don't post on Team.Net. I'll
go back on lurk mode now and let you and Scotty take your frustrations out
on each other.
Hey Katie, what's new at Clinique?

Subject: SP Proposal
This has been really interesting. I have learned, for one thing,
that fully prepping a 911 or an RX7tt for ASP costs as much as
FOUR Lotus Elans. I've also learned that, apparently, a
fully-prepped ASP 911 has a better power/weight ratio than an
Elan (thanks Brad).
*********WARNING! SARCASM ALERT!***********
Read the following at your own risk.
These facts, combined with the most recent Solo II Nationals
results, lead me to conclude that there is simply no place in SP
for the RX7tt or the 911. They're just too expensive. And too
hard to find. Let's face it, even if the Elans left SP, the poor
Porsche guys who don't have enough money to optimally
update/backdate a 911 will be mere trophy fodder, as will any
Mazda driver who can't afford the tab for a full-boat ASP RX7tt.
In keeping with the grassroots nature of autocross, it is my
position that these cars have the potential of stifling
competition and therefore ruining the class. Loti, OTOH, are so
cheap by comparison that, if the offending cars are removed, Elan
and Europa owners will come to Nationals in greater numbers.
I propose this in the interest of the greatest possible number of
potential autox competitors, recognizing that a small group of
competitors will be harmed by my proposal.
