Ok, below both Scott Meyers and Stan Whitney say a 1,600 can be done. I
do
not have the permission of the person who gave me the info that his CRX in
CSP weighs 1,600lbs and has Dyno'ed at 160hp to tell you who he acually is,
but I will tell you he came out in the top 10 at National's in that car in
1998.
I just finished my engine and have not yet Dyno'ed it, but I will. All
the
Mopar and Electromotive people figure I have about 180hp. My Neon has been
lightened to 2,305lbs. But I figure I will have it down to around 2,200lbs
for Nationals. I can't see getting anymore weight out of a Neon than that.
1st Gen CRX: 1600/160 = 10.00
DOHC Neon: 2200/180 = 12.22
Maybe I can get one of the Top CSP CRX guys to drive my car on the
practice day in Evansville and we will see just which is a faster car as I
am by no means one who can drive my car to its limits. I think that will
prove the NEon belongs in DSP rather than CSP.
