Jay definitely has a good point here. I think that car choice and
preference has a lot more to do with the statistics of "newer cars
winning" than it appears. Are earlier 3-series BMW's still competitive?
Yes. Are A2 VW's still competitive? Probably Yes. It's just that people
prefer to run other cars now. The same applies to other classes as well.
Part of the fact also is that as cars age, they get worn out, and
autoxing is still harder on a car than fetching groceries.
