As a pressure washer owner, I've gotta say they have limited use around cars
(and more generally speaking, paint). I have a 1200PSI washer and while
it's great for cleaning my lawn furniture, roof, and concrete walkways, it
can peel stain and paint off wooden and metal surfaces, especially if the
paint isn't in perfect condition. I bought it originally for cars and soon
learned they werent that great except for knocking off surface dirt from a
distance (or at low pressure).
So yes, while after a muddy offroad session in my truck I break out the
pressure washer, I don't recommend using it on regularly used cars.
Perhaps only in the wheel wells and definitely not in the engine...it can
knock loose connections and force water in all sorts of places.
You should probably rent one to see first.
