Hey list! First off, thank you all for the great info on the RX and
SOLO II. I didn't expect half that many replies. After reading them
all I decided to postpone my car search for a while, but I am leaning
towards a MR2. I have to drive one AT LEAST... :-)
On to the CSP deal. I can't believe that if I put 15" wheels on my
HARMLESS '96 Protege DX (cheap) with a whopping 1.5 liter twin cam
engine in it (like 90 hp) I have to race with MR2's and RX's. I know I
wouldn't have won in HS either, but I had a fighting chance on my 13"
rims. What brought this up was the encouragement I got to bring the
Protege, and the need for new tires (40,000 miles on factory Yoko's).
As a daily driver I really would like to upgrade to the 15" wheels... It
looks soooo much better. Here's the question: Am I right about the
rims putting me in CSP? Will people just feel sorry for me and let me
race the Yugo's? :-) If not I am getting the Eibach springs too. What
the heck.
I think I will have more fun getting destroyed by seasoned racers in 2's
and 7's and 300Z's with my "prepared" Protoge. It will just be a while
anyway... Until I get a CS car. Since I am there what other cool mods
can be done to the old Protoge? 4 wheel disc? Anything to boost the
already scary HP? Borrow the flux capacitor from the Delorean?
Thanks again you guys. This is getting more fun by the minute!
