Los Angeles, per se, is only a small part of SoCal.  SoCal is nearly solid
city from north of Los Angeles to the Mexican border (200+ miles).  There
are some bad areas, and lots of nice areas.

And you really believe the evening news is representative of any area as a
whole?  For every negative story reported, there are probably 1000 positive
things going on, but they aren't "news worthy".

No problem with "sporting firearms", just don't think hand guns and fully
auto weapons qualify.  They were made with one primary purpose, to kill
people (Yes, I know there are some hand guns made for competitive shooting).
And no, I'm no anti-gun fanatic. As an ex-Marine/Vietnam vet I'm quite
familiar with guns.

Funny, I don't seem to feel that my personal freedoms are all that
restricted compared to any where else in the USA.  (With the exception of
CARB, of course)
