On the Series II I just got has a Chrome E-Brake handle, I don't know what
the button looks like but I'll check on that tonight.

Series 3&4 have the silver ones and Sv has black. I've never seen brown.
If it
has a round silver plastic button on the end without a flare then it
gets painted
silver. If it has the flared or hooded button on the end then it gets
painted
black. They were never chrome.
