Hey listers. I've come back from vacation to find a surly lot on this list.
Hold on, while I get my dictionary of swear words so I can participate! (My
hope is that EVERYONE can find that humorous.)
On to my real issue - I've decided to get my SV to a decently running state
before starting restoration. I'm new at this. So, I'm breaking things down
to subsystems in the car, and one of these is the cooling system. Mine has
ages old very dirty looking antifreeze in it. I know little other than
that. I'm interested in beefing up the cooling system as I have little
patience for overheating.
I'm leaning towards using a 3-core radiator as a replacement for the
original. I'm thinking of still using the original fan though. Can anyone
give me tips on these items and the whole process I need to go through? I'm
thinking replacing the thermostat would be in order and, of course, draining
the coolant and replacing any hoses that look bad. Any tips you have on the
whole related area would be appreciated. The whole heater area is a black
box to me.
