The timing would have changed even if you didn't disturb the
distributor, as the pickup is in a slightly different place than the
cam lobe/point block.
Did you have the vacuum advance hose connected? If I'm thinking of
the right years and your car, it should be disconnected and plugged
to set the timing. You will need to get it at the same place as
before...you might also re-check the installation of the Pertronix,
as well as all your wiring connections. Maybe you pinched a wire somewhere?
