One of the reasons I'm pulling the engine out of my 74.5 is because the engine
bay and all of the components were hand painted gray by a PO (the body is
red). He or she didn't do a bad job so it has taken 25 years for this project
to percolate to the top of the list..
I know the steering column and cross tube should be black.
What about these parts, are they black or body color ?:
The stay rods that attach to the radiator shroud
The short bars that secure and/or brace the front bumper and are attached to
the cross tube
The bars that are attached to the sides of the radiator and are attached to
the cross tube
The radiator overflow bottle bracket
The horns
The bonnet hinges
I'm not seeking concourse perfection but since I need to paint them anyway I
might as well paint them the right color.. If someone could check a correct
car I would appreciate it
