Rick, that is quite impressive. I almost don't recognize it as a TR6 engine
from the front..
On the cost question.. Assuming we are starting with a well used standard
engine and the work is farmed out to someone who has a clue, it seems like the
cost break down is something like this:
Rebuild stock engine to stock spec, may include a different cam but no machine
work, $4500
Machine work and labor to further tune (block, head, valve guides, porting)
$1500.
So we are at $6k for a tweaked engine that has the potential for perhaps
180hp
So fully exploit that potential we still have to touch the air/fuel and the
exhaust. It seems to me that whether we go EFI, TBI, triple Webers, triple
strombergs or SC we are going to add at least another $2k or $3k or $4k
depending on what option we choose so either way we are heading to the same
end point of $10k for our 180hp+ motor and the incremental cost of the SC
itself is not a significant factor.

Subject: RE: [6pack] Moss supercharging question
Hi All,
Just couldn't help weighing in on this subject. My 75 TR6 is supercharged
and I absolutely love it. It's not a kit from Moss or any other kit, it's my
own unique design. The car is very streetable and really scoots when asked.
