Lou:
If you didn't already know, new lenses are available although
they are a tad expensive. For $36 you can get a pair of new lenses from
Moss. They are the clear variety, so if you must have the lenses with
the faint green tint, this would not be the way to go.
New lenses will look much better than just about any lens you
restore by buffing or cleaning, but you may not wish to spend the
money... I gave up trying to get mine to look good, and just popped for
a new pair.
Cheers,
Vance

Subject: Re: Restoring discolored tail light lenses
I have used acetone successfully but you have to be very careful.
Use a clean soft cloth like from an old t-shirt. Put acetone on cloth
and
wipe the lens carefully, do not get carried away as the acetone will
dissolve
the plastic and leave streaks. A little bit at a time works well. I
would
practice on an old lens or the bottom or side first where you can't see
it if
you go to far. It will take the yellowing off. After you take the
yellow
off, you can polish with clear coat compound and wax if you like.
You buy a can of acetone at most hardware stores.
