I have used acetone successfully but you have to be very careful. Use a clean soft cloth like from an old t-shirt. Put acetone on cloth and wipe the lens carefully, do not get carried away as the acetone will dissolve the plastic and leave streaks. A little bit at a time works well. I would practice on an old lens or the bottom or side first where you can't see it if you go to far. It will take the yellowing off. After you take the yellow off, you can polish with clear coat compound and wax if you like. You buy a can of acetone at most hardware stores. Lou |
