John, the rear engine oil seal is also a good candidate while you have the box
out if that seal is leaking.
If the gearbox has more than 60k miles on it I would also have it refurbed and
perhaps have OD fitted if you don't have one and your budget allows..
Also while you have the dash support and tunnel cover off and the seats out,
think about taking care of any floor/bulkhead issues as well as carpet since
these are harder to deal with when the interior is fully installed.

Subject: gear box check list
Could someone send me a list of things to check / to do / to buy when you pull
your gearbox? I'm going to be pulling
it sometime this fall/winter to do some clutch work and since I'll have the
sucker out of the car, I want to make sure
I do everything generally recommended when the gear box is out (for example,
installing a second fork pin, new
bellhousing bushings, consider having the transmission overhauled, etc.). I
know that's asking for a bad case of
shipwright's disease, but I really don't want to pull the gearbox again in the
near future. Thanks.

P.S. Out of curiosity, are the TR6s on the latest issue of the 6-Pack magazine
owned by anyone on the list? Just
curious since they had Ohio plates (and I'm in Ohio).
