Would it be possible as a group to put together a list of
possible/probably symptoms to look at if the answer is yes to any of the
below questions. I think something like this would be useful to a
number of us. I recognize that it would not be an exhaustive look at
the problem of vibration, but at least a start in the right direction.
I am particularly interested as I do have a vibration that gets worse
under acceleration, but have put the car away for the winter and am not
in a position to further diagnose at this time.
For what it's worth, I'm happy to try and compile and post a list if
people want to forward me their two cent's on a "yes" to each of the
questions.
Thanks!

Subject: Re: 73 TR6 Vibration
Jim,
One needs to isolate the vibration ie drive train, suspension/ wheels or
engine.
Note if the vibration gets worse, same or better in the following
questions.
1. Does the vibration only happen when accelerating?
2. does the vibration happen when holding a constant speed?
3. Does the vibration happen when decelerating?
4. Is the vibration felt from the steering wheel?
5. Is the vibration felt from the gear shift ?
6. Is the vibration felt more in seat?
7. is the vibration seem to come from the left, right, front or rear
side of car?
8. Is the vibration produced when the car is stopped with the engine
revved up to the proper rpm range?
9. what road speed range does the vibration occur?
This would only be a start to locating the problem. I'm sure that after
answering the above questions the list could better diagnose your
vibration.
