Joe--I have installed Stayfast canvas on my '71 VW convertible and '72 TR6.
Allthough not "correct", they are gorgeous! In my mind, I would never go
with vinyl: no stretching, very durable (you'll likely never have to
replace it again IF you take care of the windows), classy appearance. The
canvas is not nearly as forgiving during the install (it doesn't stretch
much, if any), so you really have to be careful. But the install is doable
for the enthusiast with patience.
I heartily recommend canvas!
