John----There are small, stainless steel "mud flaps" available from many
auto parts stores. These can be screwed onto the rear fender lip to
protect the bottom of the fender. They can be trimmed to a custom fit.
(I had them on for years) Not like the large, rubber ones found on some
import sedans.

The bottom part of the rear fenders looks like it has taken a beat from
road sand/stones etc being kicked up the the rear tires. What have folks
done to protect the paint in these areas?
