Kevin---Chances are hat someone (erroneously) used Loc-Tite or something
similar when installing the main cap bolts. If they really did
overtorque them, they are now stretched and useless. You can usually see
this after you get them out for inspection. Try the air wrench, but
sometimes heat is the only thing that will break the seal. (Not good to
do this on an in-tact engine)
On another of your posts...It's the side of the block and crank that
gets the most wear, or possible damage in your case, is the one that
takes the thrust when using the clutch.
