Razor---My best guess as to what you are hearing is the rattle from
pinging at this particular rpm. If you can drive (easily) thru this rpm
without hearing this, it might confirm this theory. I would just then
retard the spark a couple of degrees, and see if this removes the
rattle. Best for economy reasons not to retard the timing at idle to
less than 4 deg. BTDC. (No vacuum connected for this setting).
