Hi Jim,
I didn't see in Bentley or Haynes that it said not to separate the calipers.
Can you tell me where
it is in Bentley?
I will zip Nelson's stuff and send it to you. His comments about there not
being any difference
between the 16P and 16PB calipers in terms of which pistons and dust covers to
use are incorrect.
There is a difference between the 16P and 16PB calipers. You can not use a 16PB
piston in a 16P
caliper. At least not the 16P calipers that are on my TR250. I believe Girling
must have been making
the later style calipers for a while (16PB) but labeling them 16P. It appears
that's what Nelson was
working with -- a 16P caliper but it had a 16PB style lip for the piston's dust
cover.
Thanks,
Don Malling
