Actually it is possible but a whole lot more work. It will not lower straight
down with a transmission jack. The exhaust, tranmission crossmember and
propshaft all have to come out. Even then the bellhousing might give
difficulty passing between the floorboards without partially bringing the
transmission into the cockpit so you could jockey it through the bottom.
Resulting in a sore body and several busted knuckles in the process.
It is far easier to pull the passenger seat, place a piece of cardboard or
towel on the carpet, swing the tranny over to it and pull it out the passenger
door.
