steering rack

Hello sixers,
I'm trying to secure the rubber boot on the right side of the steering rack 
with a wire tie.  Because the rack on this side is a smooth tube, and the 
boot is loaded with moly slip, it won't stay.  Any suggestions? Would a 
jumbo pipe clamp do the trick?
