Mitch,
Here are some shots of the front on my car, a 76 (despite the turn signals
and hubcaps).

I've had the boobs off for a few years now and can't see ever going back. I
don't recall any big issues with removing them. Really cleans up the front
end IMO. I also took the trouble to remove the front license plate thing,
now that's fugly! (I'm lucky to live where front plates are not required). I
used some black plastic plugs to fill the two holes from the plate mount and
the 4 holes from the boobs. I preferred black over "chrome" ones.
The rear boobs are the big weight savers, the brackets that they attach to
weigh a fair amount as I recall. On the rear, there are no holes to plug and
the bumpers look the same as the earlier cars with black rubber gaskets
between the three sections -- at least I think that's how the earlier rear
bumpers are as well, not 100% sure on that one. You'll want to make up some
spacers for where the bumper attaches to the rear valence to make up for the
now missing brackets, I used 1/4" Al stock. No rear shots, sorry.
I did it more for the look than the weight. I just really dislike the look
of the big rubber protrusions, seems like such an afterthought (admittedly
made by a company on a tight budget to meet the ever changing regs of the
era).
Other things to remove for the minimalists in the crowd:
- air pump and emission plumbing
- sun visors
- wheel trim rings (pure cheese IMO)
The mini spare is something I've toyed with in the past. What did you end up
using? Have you ever had to put it to use?

PS -- I'm only going to keep these pics here for a few days.
