Al    Condenser - maybe - usually their breakdown is RPM dependent 
regardless of the gear. If you have access to an ignition scope, look at 
the engine running with it. Had a Toyota (you should pardon the 
expression) once that did similar things. Turned out to be a bad plug 
wire - real obvious on the scope.
