Larry,
If you don't mind using a modern starter try www.britishstarters.com
I believe British Parts Northwest and others sell the same starter. I have
one on my car and I've been quite satisfied. The modern starter is more
powerful, smaller and lighter. NFI, etc.

> I believe a starter replacement is required. 30-40% of the time when the
ignition is engaged, the >starter spins, but the bendix does not move the
starter gear into the ring on the flywheel. Turn the >key off, turn the key
to start and the starter engages and the engine turns over and starts
>immediately. New battery...new alternator...is it the starter? Could it be
a bad solenoid

there another source?
