I'll reword a previous question.. Stromburg 175 carbs on a 74 TR6. Carb #1
(right side) is dumping gas out of the carbon canister breather tube. I've
had it off 3 times, played with the needle valve, seems to shut off flow
when the float contacts it (I blow through a line, stops air). I've even
adjusted the float to contact it a couple mm earlier (Float at 18-20mm
instead of 16-17mm). Filled the bowl off the car, tried it and valve seemed
to be closed. Put it on the car, attempt to start, gas flows out breather. I
blow in the fuel line and air goes in, blowing remainder of gas out carbon
canister tube.. Now am I crazy or should the float be stopping all flow once
the bowl is full so gas CAN'T be pumped up and out? I took these carbs off
the car three years ago (was running ok) and didn't touch them so I can
understand the needle being sticky, but that isn't it. Am I completely off
track here? I'm about to buy a new needle valve so if its something else I
should be looking at let me know.
Thanks for ANY help or suggestions.
